[epilepsy] Re: Topamax

 

Megan is on the generic Topomax (Topirimate), and it was the drug that made her seizure free. She was already taking depakote, which largely controlled her generalized tonic clinics, but some myoclonics were still occurring. The Topiramate has completely stopped her myoclonics, and she has been able to drive for almost year now. She doesn't complain of any side effects, but was already on Adderall and Depakote when she started the meds, so that may be why she didn't notice any new side effects. (Adderall was causing weight loss, for example.)

We couldn't be happier with this combination of meeds for her. She hasn't had a seizure in over a year!
