My 12 year old DD is on Lamictal, so far no problems with vision we get it tested every year. But we had to get her Dr. to order brand name lamictal, once it went generic. We tried the generic and it was worse than giving her nothing, so she is back on the brand name. We just had to up it to 200 in PM and 150 in AM. Her first med was depakote and that was awful, she was doing things she did not even know she was doing. The last straw was when she was sitting in the school cafetreia licking her shoes totally out of it. Lamictal was so much better for her.

When you become older, it changes to Medicare and it is a larger amount that you would usually get monthly with the Medicare since you have been on it awhile and always get the increases as they come with time. If you follow this up, good luck.

It caused my vision to go blurry, me to forget words, not to be able to move my head, severe neck pain and stiffness as soon as I upped the dose the 2nd level- before even reaching therapeutic levels. I switched to generic Keppra (not XR) which my insurance will cover. Its ok, but it makes me sleepy and forgetful- which I'd take over the other side effect.

Kate::
         I know how you feel  I've had the same problem but mine came when I was on FELBATMATE When I told the staff where I lived & said I was going to put it on hold till I could get in to see my Dr the staff said we'll call him now & when they did he had me sent right to his office & they told him that I felt like I was TOXIC on that. I was sent to his office & was told told to reduces it every 3 days till I was COMPLEATELY OFF IT & he had me at his office & we set the plan that went into EFFECT ASAP & the day I took the last pill I returned to his office & switch to a different medication
