Subject: [epilepsy] seizures while sleeping

Hi Susan,
I haven't had a seizure in my sleep since I've been married, but I suppose it would wake him up and he'd let me know.
When I was younger, if I had fallen out of bed or wet the bed I could assume I had a seizure. Also, feeling more tired than normal or I wake up really sweaty.
Sometimes my pre-seizure symptoms wake me up. I think this is different for other people, but for me: All of a sudden I start feeling really nauseous, my head feels cloudy and heavy. I have weird humming or ringing in my ears, splitting heading behind my eyes or a band around my head and get really sweaty. This will usually wake me up but doesn't always lead to a full on grand mal. Sometimes if I wake up feeling those symptoms if I think hard about slowing my heartbeat down and breathing slowly I can stop a grand mal, sometimes not. I can't move or stand when I feel like that.
Kate
