[epilepsy] ELECTROLYTE REDUCED WATER ?

Hi Pat,
The reading on the subject is very involved.
Can you summarize it all in layman's terms ?
ie.  your findings and how exactly they have helped your daughter ?

What exactly is Electrolyte reduced water ?

P.S. My son also autistic and epileptic was once on Depakote for 2 years.  He gained 40 pounds on that and still was not controlled.  The Depakote was removed and he changed to Keppra.
Keppra kept him seizure free for 10 years and then that came to an end.

We just got my child off Depakote, it made her seize more when recently increased due to growth related weight gain. Interesting to know Electrolyte reduced water high in antioxidants has helped her more than any meds have. Depakote is one of a few key Epi meds mentioned here that increase Oxidative stress and reduce the body's natural antioxidant immune system which can increase seizure activity. See section 4.4 specifically, if you take your time there is a lot of very good info here. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3606551/  How might the water help this? That's what I thought & laughed at.. www.gofundme.com/fightseizuresnow  explains it somewhat. Get back to me for more info.

That is no question the truth, and as well doing blood work to make sure your dosage of medicine is to high or low.  One problem though I've had is my Depakote ER because with taking that, and blood tests I have a low I'm
playlet count.  Although with myself I'm 6'0, and medium build, and I take 13 pills a day between 5 drugs.

All this is interesting BUT BE CAREFUL here Simy! The amount of Meds prescribed is usually based on body weight. I mean you should not go by how much others take because you don't know their weight and others factors their doctors may have taken into consideration.

As you are both on 20mgs, may I ask you if you take 10mgs 2x a day or just 20mgs once a day ?
Thanks
