I had a question. I know there are a few others who lost their hearing or losing their hearing as well have speech problems due to generalized seizures. I am one of them. I had hearing and a few other tests run today by my specialist and we were sat down to be told the nerves that help with speech and hearing are severely damaged and there is no turning back. I have had seizures for almost 5 years now although a horrible bout of meningitis most likely didn't help the situation. They said my central nervous system is a mess however technology isn't a touch near finding solutions to fix damaged nerves. They did mention the cochlear implant although was quick to say they are not sure if it might make my seizures worse. Anyone in my shoes or close to the point of having an implant? Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Lynn :)
