All I can tell you si what my neurosurgeon told me. Before my rightt
emporal lobectomy i had already had surgery to correct a chiari
malformation. He told me "I know you are over 35, so you are not likely
to ahve any mroe kids, but if you do get pregnant absolutely have a
scheduled C section." I do not know if it is related to the rtl the
chiari decompression or both. he told em that the pressure of natural
birth would be a bad idea.
I owuld speak directly to your Dr. about this concern, and to your
former neurosurgeon, or the one who has taken over the practice if he is
no longer practicing.

My concern is I had left temporal lobectomy(just a small amount) about 8ys ago done. I was wondering has anyone else had that done(or some sort of brain surgery) and had a child? Im asking because I wonder can I have natural birth or do I have to go through a cesarean probably? I know its hard to determine but due to the surgery or doesnt it matter cus the surgery was so long ago? Im going to ask my Dr next time I go back but hes been out of town so long. Thanks
