Re: [epilepsy] Was thrown out of Subway because of my service dog!

Thanks! Yes I was so mad that I was violated like that. And all these people were getting their meals, and could not believe the way I was being treated. The officer told me outside the restaurant that I definitely have a case! The officer even sat down at our table for like 15 to 20 min talking with us about different dogs, ect and my sd didn't move at all. The officer was impressed with her so much. The officer talked with his boss before coming in and asked how to handle this situation since this was the first case like this in the 30 yrs he was on the force. His boss told him that it was a civil case and some company was in a lot of trouble!

Finally called corporate who typed everything down and the lady doing it could not believe it and was so surprised that after everything happened, he still did not serve me apoligize to me. Oh well, he will find out what it is like not to have a job in the near future.

Sounds you may soon be the proud owner of your own Subway! Well I would at
least guess you have a very good case against both the store owner and the
Corporation. With a little leg work I bet you can find an attorney will to
represent you on a 30% award basis. I suggest you put this story on
FACEBOOK like the fat guy who was recently forced off a plane. People like
that cold hearted S.O.B. have no business running a business.

Good thing it was not me or I may have used the attack command for the dog!

My husband and I went to lunch and I had my sd with me. I put her under the
table in downstay position. The manager told me to leave that no dogs were
allowed. I told him she was my sd and then handded him the ada laws card. He
would not look at card. I told him I would not leave that he was breaking
the law and I would call police. He told me to go ahead. I called the police
and officer Turpin came out. He had been on the force 30 yrs and had never
handled a case like this.

He talked withme and I told him what happened. during this time my husband
gets in line and orders lunch, 2 sandwhiches, but manager says he will serve
him only not me. (this was right before po got there) Anyways my husband ate
his sandwhich while I talked and then the po went to talk with the manager
in the back.

The po came back and talked with me again and said this is a civil matter
and that he told the manager of the ada laws and civil rights, but he really
didn't know much about them. The officer said that I could get a copy of the
report, but he was sorry I was being treated this way because so many people
out here in tx see sds or working dogs.

I left not being served and filed compaints with corporate subway and am
filling out a form for the ada department. Its going to take alot more than
a simplke apology from them. I have never been "thrown out" and the officer
remarked at how well me sd was. She never moved from where she was put down.
Very well behaved dog I have!

The owner of the store was called by manager and he didn't even know about
sds so I was told by the po that the owner would have to call corporate and
find out. Either way I was not served and want justice!

Any comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks, Terri
