[epilepsy] Re: hi....=)

Hi Gabby,

That question made me laugh allot because I had so many seizures while playing tennis (smile)! Breathing hard (huffing and buffing) can bring on a seizure. Tennis is my game which throughout the summer I play 5 times a week. What I learned to do when running hard or working out hard was to not breath in hard through my mouth. I breathed in through my nose, out either through my nose. When I happend to begin very hard to the point I had to begin breathing in through my mouth, then I quickly thought (oh no, smile). Tried to stall time till my heart slowed down just a bit.

That's why before EEG's they ask you to breath very hard! Simply because it raises the possibility of a seizure.

At the gym, where you breathing hard before a seizure came on? Hope this helped in some way. Exercising is a great way to burn off stress! And stress brings on seizures! Take care, keep a smile on your face!
