Last week I tried to send an article about the lights, but I don't think it worked...but the main idea was that the lights were put on becuase they are easy to spot. An added
benefit was that the lights could be seen easily at a distance, so vehicles that are heavy and therefore need extra time to stop could be forwarned. But more important was the idea that the lights were there for emergency situations, and did not need to be on at all times. I'll see if I can post the link here for anyone who would be interested.. .

If you can't get any action for the strobe light by taking the "epilepsy" tack, try another tack--the light can be confusing, children might not be able to distinguish it from law enforcement in emergencies, it might be distracting during panic situations, i.e--it might do more harm than good.
