Hi Tammy,
I thought the same thing about Jonathon. He is 10 years old and is taking 2000 mgs daily of Keppra, and I've noticed a lot of others who take much smaller doses. But his neuro team also told me that there is a lot of room to increase his dosage if needed. I think it's one of those situations where YMMV.
We also recently found out that his neuro team thinks he may be getting migraines. They're not treating him yet, but I was wondering if anyone knows of migraine medicines that are safe for children and that do not contain sulfa? Sulfa--even in very small doses--messes with his blood sugars, and most of the migraine meds I know about either contain sulfa or are not recommended for children.
