[epilepsy] Re: Night time seizures (Lamictal)

Hi All,

To my knowledge, Megan has never had a seizure while sleeping. She
had trouble controlling her seizures with Lamictal alone, but
Lamictal and Keppra together are helping. She's even gotten a bit of
leeway, in that she has been late on a dose and not had a tonic
clonic seizure. I don't know if nocturnal seizures are better
controlled with different meds than daytime seizures or not. I've
never had reason to look into that.

Megan actually has had too much lamictal in her bloodstream at times,
which can also cause seizures. It apparently has a relatively narrow
window of efficacy, at least in Megan's case. Keppra would currently
have to be considered Megan's main medication, as she is on 3500 mgs
of Keppra a day and 800 mgs of Lamictal.

Take care,
Tammy
