Hi
I am not sure if I am on the xr or just the normal tegretol slow release, what does vitamin b12 do?
Regards

I take Tegretol XR. The XR is the extended release and soothes out the peaks and valleys of the drug.
I used to take carbamazepine and would have gran mal siezures around 5:00 am two or three times a month. The XR fixed that.
Also, be aware that carbamazepine interferes with B-12 uptake and you need to take a B12 or multi-B vitamin. Long term B-12 deficiency has significant memory issues associated with it.

Hi
I take tegretol for my epilepsy, some years ago my doctor
told me to split it equally over the day, i.e. 600 mg
morning and the same at night. I take 1100 mg per day, I
seem to need more in the morning. Is it better to split it
like this or would it be ok to split it say 700 mg morning
and 400 at night?
