[epilepsy] Re: MMJ discussion

I was implying that Greg could use a little MMJ himself, not tobacco. There are ways of using MMJ other than smoking it. And it is nothing like cigarette smoking, as MMJ has been shown to be less harmful and even possibly beneficial for those with respiratory problems. The drugs you mention are in no way similiar to MMJ. And many of those drugs you mentioned have been used to treat seizure disorders. There are many "unapproved" things out there that are touted for use for almost anything out there. Legislature is currently being heard on making MMJ legal for federal study. In the 23 states with full legalization and/or Medical Marijuana, studies have been made into it's medical uses and there have been many things found it could help in its various forms. Not all prescription meds for epilepsy work for everyone. MMJ may help to reduce the severity or frequency of Epileptic seizures. It has been proven to work for some patients! I'm sorry you feel so strongly about marijuana in such a negative way, but the stuff can work, it has for me.  I am encouraging no one to try it, in a state where it is legal or not, or to break any laws. I'm not saying it is better or has any magic powers, it's not a panacea for what ails you. But if someone is researching MMJ and is considering using it in addition to prescription drugs, it has been helpful for me. That is my opinion on MMJ.
