Re: [epilepsy] How do we actually: get e pilepsy? "and" Is it in our bodies, when born?

Elizabeth, I love the quote about everyone being born right handed but only the best overcome it.

I have no idea why I have epilepsy.  I was 23 or 24 when I had my first seizure.  I was hiking with a group of friends. My legs gave out and I had to 'straddle' a friend to continue and the next thing I knew the ambulance had come.

EEG shows an both sides of the brain are abnormal.  I guess that means they were always that way and I have no idea why it showed up as an adult.

Life goes on.  At 41 (about a year ago) I go fibromyalgia as well.

I'd much rather have my seizures less controlled than fibromyalgia, which is sort of controlled.  I also deal with other things too.  I think I'm not the only one with epilepsy not being the only health problem though and for some of us the health problems are related, but for some like myself they aren't.
