Just had my 12 yr old little girl come home last Friday. Wow that was long but lots of good info came out of it. She has Tuberous Sclerosis Complex causing Autism & Epi. She has tonic clonic seizures and what we thought were some complex seizures. We learned the mild staring “fits” she had or when she would say she “felt like a seizure” were NOT seizures but were anxiety / panic attacks that looked much like a complex partial seizure. During her stay she went through sleep deprivation which triggered 2 real seizures that came from the same place in her brain, was weaned of 2 Epi meds and put onto a new med Felbamate. Good news the anxiety attacks are now gone and praying the seizures are too!
She complains of leg cramps and squeezing in her throat, possible side effects of new med? Anyone else familiar with Felbamate?
