Re: [epilepsy] erin here again

That could have been something to cause them to start. My mom told me. when I was a baby, I went down some stairs in a walker. The floor was cement and it caused damage to the part of my brain that is affected by the seizures. They started getting really bad when I got in my teenage years. I am 46 now.I had surgery in 2004, the neurosurgeon removed a tiny piece of the scar where it was damaged, it cut the seizures down a lot.The seizures affected my left temporal lobe. I still have seizures every now and then, but not like the ones I had back then. Let me know if there is anything I can help with. TC.

Hi again,

well what you wrote: reminded me - of a fall once: that I had.
before really I had no idea what can cause; or how and why the epilepsy started.

listen: I was like: 15 or 16; I had ridden my bike to my sisters boyfriends family-home, to pick-up something.
I had like a 10-speed bike - the bag was on the right side of the handel-bars, but the edge of it was like-clicking the spokes of the wheel frame.
making a click-click sound: it was late afternoon - the sun was almost setting - it was in my face: but I had an okay view.
not going too-fast - thou no traffic of cars, suddently the next-thing I was being picked-up by the owner of the home I fell in-front of.
the bag locked with the wheel brakes & it flipped-over, where the impack against the street must-have knocked-me-out cold, but no bleeding from the fall anywhere.
my sister in law took me home; around the block.
I never had an issue: something else that makes me wonder, if someone witnesses someone have a seizur - can that trigger or cause someone to have one?
well years later like when I graduated" I'm 19.
working in a retail store: as a stock-boy - there was a lady working their.
I was about 3 isles away from her; she was cleaning: I heard a "bang" and someone slightly screamed.
a shopper, I looked up but didn't see the cleaning lady.
when I got to the isle she was in: out cold on the floor - not shaking, or foaming in her mouth.
I called for help - she came to and woke-up, she had no injurys
thou a bump on her forhead: she never returned to work - was I traummatized of the slight accurance?
and years later like I said: about 24 my first black-out.
the doctor did tell me - in my head the epilepsy shows, like the front upper-right side of my head...
wow what a story.
smiles

Hi. I have had epilepsy since I was a baby. My seizures were caused from a head injury when I was about 6 months old. The EEG's I have had done showed the scarring on my brain. There are other causes for them, but that is the cause of mine. Stress seems to trigger my seizures. I don't talk a lot on here unless I know about the topic. If there is anything I can help, let me know. TC.

How old were you when you had your first seizure? Mine started when I was
34 and it took four years to find the cause.
