Hi,
B-12 is very interesting. It is getting a lot of focus now. I am a on this list as I am a parent of a young adult who has autism and seizures. There are many neurological issues in our family. Anyway, I have 2 autoimmune disorders (rheum arthritis and Sjogren's). I also have migraines and peripheral neuropathy PN from Sjogren's not diabetes. I like to get people aware of Sjogren's as it is a very common autoimmune disorder and people/ doctors don't know about it.
Anyway, I started having very major problems with my PN and was unable to wear shoes since the fall. I had terrible foot pain and couldn't stand to have anything touch the back of my foot/ heel/ ankle. It took months and finally in Jan, it was only by God's grace with a Google search while looking for backless shoes that I found an article that answered what was going on with my feet.
I feared bouncing from doctor to doctor (neurologist, podiatrist, rheumatologist) in trying to sort this out. My problems started 2 months after I was advised to reduce the amount of B-12 I had been taking. Again thank God, the podiatrist was extremely helpful. I showed her my research and she said I was completely right. She printed out a Merck's info

There was no toxicity level for B-12
Bottom line- B-12 is a major player in neurological issues. Medications, medical conditions (autoimmune disorders), digestive issues (changes in your stomach acids if you take antacids, medications for heartburn or over the counter treatments for heartburn, if you had bariatric surgery) -alter your how your body absorbs, or doesn't absorb B-12.
