Excuse this none seizure topic-
Your foot problem could be RA related or it could be peripheral neuropathy. But it also could be something a podiatrist could treat.
Topic all could consider-
Sometimes it gets complicated when you have several medical issues. You can be seeing a specialist for one area and they are looking at you, your test/ lab results, and your treatment plan just from their area of specialty. When you have other medical problems, there can be spill over that isn't considered. Say your lab results are a bit over the area of normal and from their perspective, in their field, that is a red flag so they tell you to do X, Y, and Z. But other specialist might look at it differently because of other issues, that result isn't a problem.
For example-, my son with seizures had his yearly exam and his primary did labs. The results had slightly high level for liver enzymes. I got a call from the primary who said quick contact his neurologist and see what she wants to do! I contact the neurologist and she says, "This is nothing. Yeah technically this is over the line but in neurology, I see this all the time and am not concerned. I see his other labs and it is okay." I tell the primary and it is fine. Next year we run the labs and it is lower, all is well.
But in my case, I had labs and one specialist said to stop B-12 as it was a bit high. I do and now I have had foot pain that has significantly impacted my mobility for months. Yes, from that specialist's area, it is high but if you take into account all the issues and look at it from all the angles, that lab wasn't significant.
I guess no matter what, we all have to be as informed as possible and be our responsible for our own primary care. I am not complaining about any of the doctors who treated me. I completely understand why and would have probably done the same in their place. Health care professionals are under tremendous stress. My son's primary was being very responsible and had my son's health in mind. He was right to check with the neurologist about the lab.
