I'd like to know how Zonegran affected anybody else here in the area of enhanced senses, so much that it just became overwhelming. Is it just me?
Coming off of Vimpat (AKA 'Vimcrap') and onto this 'Zanygran' was one of the worst experiences ever. FDA approval doesn't mean safety and I was having definite withdrawal symptoms in addition to whatever was happening from taking the new one + side effects from the new medcicine.
Mainly, I have trouble spelling (I have to fix basically everything) and my confusion at times is extreme. Anxiety is horrible. The latest increase of the Zonegran was 100mg about 10 or so days ago and the Vimpat's gone finally. It's so hard to describe everything. Here's an example from my journal of a recent way I've been, in which it's like my senses are so 'available' and I think of everything at times that it makes me feel really terrible:
'I might have to close a shade so I don't see movements or hear wind move a shade...a fan may have to be turned off because noise that used to be calming is now just getting to me...ticking clocks...typing of a keyboard...the feeling of keyboard...the sound of a car on the road may lead to the wondering of what the tire feels like on the road and how many tires there are. I can even focus on hearing myself breathe through my nose and might want to as much to help me.'
My heart's always beating fast and I had my last episode a couple days ago. However, I didn't fully pass out and the hospital's discharge paper just says I was having "altered mental status" with no mention of seizure. I seemed to be going 'in and out' for about 10 minutes at that time and it was really terrible.
So, I see the neuro this Monday and I want the stuff lowered. I could maybe handle 100mg in the morn and 100mg at night instead of the now 200mg at night.
