[epilepsy] Re: Generic Keppra

Hi Terry,

Both Megan and I have individual plans with Wisconsin's Health Insurance Risk Sharing Plan. The insurance is actually through WI Blue Cross, and I know what you mean about the expense. For the two of us, each having a $2500 per person deductible, I still pay close to $1000 a month for premiums. That's $17,000 per year out of pocket before I see dime one in benefits. Still, given how much tests and drugs cost, and the always present possibility of serious accident or disease, I feel glad we have it.

In WI there is also a program called Badgercare, which is for lower income people. Some are employed, but make low wages, and I think some are unemployed. Does IL have a similar program? If so, it may well be worth your time to apply. At least it can provide some level of care until you can find a job or ????. I couldn't find a similar program doing a quick look on the IL site, but you are probably more familiar with IL programs.

Best of luck,
Tammy
