Re: [epilepsy] New at This

It depends upon where you live for public transportation...by federal law, paratransit has to provide rides 1.5 miles in from a bus/train/subway line if you can't take public transportation. However, one of the towns I cover doesn't have any of those, so no paratransit.

Usually paratransit is a lot cheaper than the normal fare. It is not restricted to take you to doctor appointments or work--you can take it to the movies, etc... Senior centers usually have rides locally, but you have to be 60+.

If you qualify and you dr signs a paper saying you can't drive now, many do give a major discount. Each one has there own name for disabled people and they will help. They get compensated thru the state.

Medical alert can alert you 10-15 min before you have a seizure so you can get somewhere safe. A medical respone dog is trained to push a butter and call 911 or fam member in case you are unconscious. I have a med alert dog and she's great.

She said that noise induced migraines could be silent seizures. I have to go to a driving rehab to re apply for my license and I have to get retested again. I miss my old life and my freedom of driving. I am just mad, frustrated and very depressed.
