I know this is a little off topic, but I could use some support.
I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 26, right after I got married. On my honeymoon, I had seizures and since then I've had to take AED's. Because I take this medication for my epilepsy, I can't get pregnant.
My husband and I have been looking into adoption to start our family. The cost of adoption case be more than $30,000. A federal adoption tax credit of just over $13,000 is set to expire with the 2011 tax returns. In 2012 the credit will only be $6,000 and only for special needs children adopted from US foster care. In 2013, the tax credit will expire completely.
There are millions of children around the world who do not have a forever family. Help alleviate the financial burden of adoption by signing the petition and contacting your senators and representatives.
