[epilepsy] re: (epilepsy) Switching from Brand to Generic

 

Hi

Although it was not any of the meds you are speaking about here (Keppra) I was on one and having problems and my dr wanted to at the time add a 3rd AED. I had been fine on the two taking for so long that did not want to get into taking more and more if not necessary. Asked him what would be the why not take one of my 'Generic (Carbamepine)' and switch to 'Brand (Tegretol)' instead. What would be the difference seeing the two meds that were taking were so good for me all these years. Answer: No no....switching to the brand would make no difference.

Didn't know what to think of his answer as always thought if had to, go to the brand. Possibly just the symptoms I was having at the time or just me as a whole it wouldn't matter.
