Hi James,
Wish I was your age, I'm 53 (smile)! My epilepsy began back in 1975, was first put on Pheno. and Dilantin. I was on the Dilantin till 1988. Gosh, if I would have lost weight I would have been lighter the very light! I weigh allot more now than back then, I'm now 153 5'8", yes 153, the most I've ever weighed!!! I think back then just after high school I was in the mid 130s.
When on medications, weight should always be brought up to Drs. Very often Drs. will follow big weight changes allot by wanting to see more blood test results because of the difference. I'm not to surprised about being toxic on the same dosage with the weight loss.
My seizures weren't under control, was having mostly complex partials 1-7 each month on average. I had a LTL 4 years 7 months ago (smile). Since then have been seizure free, have been driving just over 3 years now (smile)!

I learned back in 1980 when I was hospitalized because of my EPILEPSY they found my dilantin level low & heard the Dr. at the hospital the formal used to figer out my doseage was figuard at 50mgs for every 70kgs & I spoke to my Dr. earlyier this month & asked if they're still useing this scale for determinateing doseage & he said yes & to set the starter dose for the patient. I'd like to hear from others & their experince when they tryed to lose weight. As a child I was
always under weight for my age & height.
