Maybe it is the same thing with a different name. The wires are connected to a computer that shows that sector of the brain in red yellow green and they have to adjust the electrodes. My head swells up to two hat sizes with the vasculitis, so there are usually a few areas that are painful to get a connection and they use lidocaine to help. 
 If the areas on the computer are not green then they are not ready to proceed because the connection is not clear enough. (that's as much as I know. I think certain areas are allowed to be yellow sometimes~but I am not sure. No Red ever=no connection.)
