lol I'm going 2 have 2 put u back on it I totally agree with everything U said One of the big 'black' stations here (I don't even listen anymore) used to play a song by say Mary J Blige, and then they would follow it up with the original that her song came from and say who it was. I always appreciated that. Don't know if they still do it. If I had control of that, I would have came out in black pants with a white ruffled shirt and a raspberry beret I would have shown flashes of all his videos from 2009 - 1979 I would have definately highlighted the movies, all the instruments, the 21 Nights book, the Batman soundtrack, the 1980's proteges and music, and you would have to hightlight the Purple Reign events I would have done Prince proud

How are WE supposed to teach the youth if the knowledge is spoon fed to them? How can they even connect with the legends? They think all of Hip Hop music is original stuff not remakes, samples, with a different vibe. My children? I shoved Prince down their throats..they recognize his intros before I do. In order for them to appreciate a vast range of music they had to understand the history, the motivation and the inspiration. These music "business" folks can't understand. They're caught up in ratings & money so much, that these young people know ZERO of what REAL music is. Ain't it funny how record sales are continuing 2 drop? They claim it's the economy. But why is it that the movie industry is rebounding & profiting quite nicely? I agree with Prince. Music IS safe......as long as HE'S around! Because if he retires in this shape of music, GOD help us ALL!!!
