Re: [epilepsy] Vegetarians,Vegans,Organic Foods and Epilepsy/Seizures

Gina,

Everyone is different and I give my daughter Julia organic foods and
haven't noted a difference in seizure actiity but, some people are more
sensitive than others. I have started reading about the cooralation between
antioxidents and seizures. I read a study that people with epi have lower
than normal antioxident levels in their body and more free radicals (FR) in
the brain. The FR can be a cause of excitability in the brain ie seizure.
The antioxidents can reduce the number of FR in the brain. I started giving
Julia a lot more antioxident rich foods in her diet and have noted a
decrease in seizure activity. I continue to research the topic if you want
I will keep you posted.
