I have noticed a big decrease in the amount of fluids I drink when I'm fasting. I'm much less thirsty. Most of my drinking is done during my eating window--eating makes me thirsty. I just figured more fluid is required for digestion. Of course I've never been one to "force" fluids--I drink when I'm thirsty. I don't know who made up the "you need to drink 8-10 cups of water a day" rule. I've never consumed that much.

> Good luck with Fast5, I started this last Friday so today is day 9 for me. I was doing ADF before so jumped straight in on this eating 5pm to 10pm. I haven't really felt that hungry but have been drinking loads all day and have been keeping busy so I don't do my usual thing, esp on weekends, of curling up on the sofa with a coffee and lots of biscuits/chocolate etc. My energy levels have been great throughout. The first couple of days I felt so bloated when I started eating that I had trouble eating enough food (never been a problem for me before!) but that has resolved itself and I'm now happily munching through my window. lol

Haven't lost any weight but not an issue for me as I want to maintain though always happy to lose a few pounds, as long as I don't put weight on I'm happy to continue with this. It suits me as I get to cook and eat supper with my husband and evening snacking has always been my problem so doesn't matter now.

So on Saturday, I ate way too much all day and night and woke up on Sunday feeling miserable. I remembered that when I was thinner, I used to naturally fast or not eat much during the day and ate whatever I wanted at dinner...I never felt deprived and I was lean and felt great. So Sunday I decided to do a fast.

I discovered this diet and really felt it made more sense to me - this was naturally how I used to eat when I was 20 pounds lighter as I said before.

I haven't lost any weight yet although I've been drinking a lot more water and definitely eating healthier, for some reason salad and lean protein sound so much better than processed foods. I also don't stuff myself, I find very little food satisfies me and I am not gorging myself during my eating window. Is it normal not to see scale movement? I would normally feel discouraged but I feel so GREAT on this diet that I'm sticking with it. I also hate being a slave to my scale and am in no rush to lose the weight as I know that fast weight loss equals fast weight gain. I guess I wonder when did all of you start noticing fat loss results from this way of eating?

This is the first day that this has occured, the past few days I've been quite content during my fasting period. It's been a struggle for sure today. Also normal for the early stages?

I still haven't told my friends or family about this WOE, I don't want to hear the criticisms that I'm starving myself and will never be able to maintain such a strange and fad diet, etc... I'll wait to tell them about it when my clothes start falling off of me LOL! So it's nice to have the support and someone to talk to.
