Subject: [epilepsy] New here.
I am new to this group .I have Epilepsy.It went misdiagnosed from I was 12 to the time I was 19.When I was 12 I had Viral Encephalitis .It sent me from a quiet child,a/b student,who was in band(ya know the all American child)to a child who was given no chance of survival.If I survived I would never do the things i used to do .I wouldn't wall,talk or the basic tasks.I graduated from high school in the lower part of my class.Due to the encephalitis I got epilepsy.I am positive of this.I had a grand Mal seizure when I was a Senior in high school(again misdiagnosed previously )The Teacher asked my mom why didn't she tell her(the teacher) I had Epilepsy ?My mom and sister cried and said that They were told it was "All in her head".Thank God there was an understanding woman who gave mom a name of a Dr.My seizures go out of whack sometimes (this past November and December )I still have absence even under meds but there are somethings I wont knock.I am now 40
and in a relationship. There will only be nieces and nephews .I am sure agent orange played a part .Thanks for hearing my story.
