Some different ways of remembering exercise (by doing different things say only 1/2 doz times over and over)
(the magic trick is doing it over and over to hopefully get it planted in your brain. Just like getting out
of bed each morning, we have done it so many times it becomes natural to us and don't forget how. Plus the
exercise helps get oxygen into the brain cells to keep them alive. You feel better on top of it all. Certain
foods are also good should we eat enough of them. In this area think Omega 3 oils, sardines, salmon especially
the fatty ones.
Dark leafy vegetables at least a cup a day either boiled or raw. Berries improve memory, blueberries are good,
strawberries stimulates pathways to improve long-term memory, also tomatoes oranges, apples peaches grapes
etc. Sometimes we think coffee is all bad when it isn't. That one cup of coffee in the morning can help you
focus better.
How to help yourself remember names (and I am really bad at this) but they say if you are introduced to
someone new or someone you may know, start up a conversation using their name in the next 2-3 sentences as
many times as you can without sounding strange. Make sure you block all the other surrounding environment so
that the name to the face is blocked hopefully in your mind for good. When you get home say that name over
and over and or also connect it with something familiar to help you remember.
Doris if you put a search in Google you can also come up with memory games.
Hope you had a great Easter weekend.

Subject: [epilepsy] Memory Suggestions needed --
I am sure many of us have experienced the difficulty with memory,
wheather it be current or from long ago, and we are using different
methods to overcome this. In daily life, things like remembering a
specific name, or where you might have put something are typical
parts of the day now. Other than making lists, and frequent use of
calendar notes, please share things you might have found helpful.
I wonder if I have asked this before.
Thanks for your time.
Doris
