[epilepsy] Re: Needing advice

You can get rid of the seizurues completely - I did. I had petite mal seizures and Grand Mal convulsions and temporal lobe seizures for 49 years. I started out with only petite mal seizures but seizures often become worse..........I got my magnesium levels up using transdermal magnesium therapy and have not had any seizures not taken any medication since Oct 3, 2007.
There are a lot of double bind, scientific studies out there that say that seizures are a symptom of magnesium deficiency and there have been official double-bind studies that say that epileptics are magnesium deficient. I learned about this while doing research for a dooctor or chinese medicine. Balance is very important in Chinese medicine and magnesium deficiency is an imbalance in the body that causes all sorts of different symptoms -- including seizures.

Any doctor that has studied physiology or nutrition would know about this. This is not new news at all - has not been for over 55 years.

I posted the 3 top articlces below here about a month or so ago. I also told a few people how to get magnesium levels up.

Magnesium in Neurological Diseases and Emotions
Even a mild deficiency of magnesium can cause increased sensitivity to noise, nervousness, irritability, mental depression, confusion, twitching, trembling, apprehension, and insomnia. Imagine being able to clear these symptoms without dangerous drugs! Magnesium is the premier medicine for depression, sleep disturbances, emotionally disturbed behavior, and neurological diseases because of its strong positive effect in calming and nourishing the nervous system.
The healthy cell is permeable. This means that nutrients are able to pass into them efficiently to be absorbed and the toxic byproducts of metabolism are eliminated. When the cells are healthy the polarity of the cell is correct, i.e., there is intracellular potassium and magnesium as well as extracellular sodium and calcium. The cell in this state is healthy, and the person functions optimally both physically and emotionally. The unhealthy cell is not permeable. This leads to unhealthy cells with sodium and calcium going inside the cell, and magnesium and potassium being lost. **28 References.**

Children using anti-epileptic medication have reduced plasma levels of vitamin E, a sign of vitamin E deficiency. So doctors at the University of Toronto gave epileptic children 400 IU of vitamin E per day for several months, along with their medication. This combined treatment reduced the frequency of seizures in most of the children by over 60 percent. Half of them "had a 90 to 100 percent reduction in seizures." (33) This extraordinary result is also proof of the safety of 400 IU of vitamin E per day in children (equivalent to at least 800 to 1,200 IU/day for an adult). "There were no adverse side effects," said the researchers. It also provides a clear example of pharmaceutical use creating a vitamin deficiency, and an unassailable justification for supplementation. (Ogunmekan AO, Hwang PA. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, clinical trial of D-alpha-tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), as add-on therapy, for epilepsy in children. Epilepsia. 1989 Jan-Feb; 30(1):84-9.)

L.B. Barnett, MD was onto this some 40 years ago. He wrote "Clinical Studies of Magnesium Deficiency in Epilepsy," published in Clinical Physiology 1(2) Fall, 1959

Lately we've seen head dropping, space outs and drooling. Can anyone tell me if they are actual seizures or space outs? We've seen a connection to increase seizures prior to an illness. Is this common too??
