If you get a chance to try pure fish, I'd be curious as to
the results. Or pure whey protein. The assumption with
beef is that it is "protein", but there is a lot of other stuff
going on chemically besides the amino acids.
I knew someone once who was very diabetic and took
his blood glucose levels about every hour or half hour.
He was telling me some of what affected the BG levels,
and I had had no idea. One thing I didn't know: anything
that stimulates cortisol levels (stress, fear, allergies)
can cause a blood sugar spike. And some foods (like
vinegar) lower BG levels for not-well-understood reasons.
So I'm wondering: does ALL protein cause a BG spike
or just beef?
(A secondary question would be: and how common is it
for beef to do that?).
