Millie -
Thanks for mentioning the Epilepsy Ontario web site. So much information.
I went to the alternative medicine page, and they listed a Japanese herbal combination: Shosaiko-to-
It has one impressive study with people, and several studies with rats also that showed positive outcomes. One study with 85 patients showed 88% improved, some were classified as cured. There were not a lot of details with the sites I could access, but since it showed up on the Epilepsy Ontario site, I thought it was worth looking into.
This is the quote from the EPI Ontario site:
Shosaiko-to-
This herb has been used by the Japanese to help decrease seizures. Researchers have found that it decreases seizures in mice.

I just started it a few days ago, and I feel better every time I take a dose, and so far it has definitely reduced seizures for me.
I just wanted to share this. I know most people are doing drugs on this group, but since it was on this web site, perhaps some of your doctors will know about it or be willing to combine it with AED's - or study it more.
I have no side effects, and I am very hopeful with how it is making me feel so far. I am taking it three times a day. I am on day three of no seizures also. Yeah!
Love,
jnanda
