Re: [epilepsy] Coming out of the Shadows

I'm glad you ignored that.

When I told a group of about 80 that I live with (in my building)
about my EP story -- I had quite a few come up to me and say
they really appreciated it and that they were glad I had the courage
to do it.

I'm guessing it will be easier for you next time.

Subject: [epilepsy] Coming out of the Shadows

Hello to all,

Just wanted to share a little something to the group..
My husband and I and other family members went on a horse camping trip at Hocking Hills, OH. Everyone wanted to go zip-lining so I went with
them thinking I could participate also. Prior to this, the guide need
information about health limitations to anyone going on the zip-line.
I raised my hand and told the guide that I had Epilepsy...this was in
front of 30 people...Admitting this made myself proud that I spoke up
even though some people in my family did not think so. That night there
were some comments that I overhead that one of the guides hair look
as though she had night seizures to give herself that way...My cousin
was directing that to me...I was sooo hurt!!!!!!! But, I simply ignored
her comment. Thank you all for listening.
Best Regards,
Carol
