[epilepsy] Disclosure to employer's doctor

I wonder if some people are thinking that my having epilepsy was never disclosed before getting the job. I disclosed it to the employer's doctor when I had the physical that was required. There are health laws (HIPAA) that require medical files to be private. This was not the case many years ago. This was made a law so that an employer did not know about your medical problems prior to hiring you. The employer's doctor (occupational health doctor) is the person who decides whether or not your medical problems will prevent you from doing your job. I fully disclosed my having epilepsy and was told that I could perform all essential duties for the job before I was hired. Sorry if this was not clear.
