It would be unusual to develop an allergy after being on it for a year. Have you changed anything else? Soap, shampoo, laundry soap, dryer sheets, anything that would touch you or be on something that touches you? What about foods? Have you started eating anything new? Also, benedryl, if it truly is an allergic reaction get some benedryl and take it, it will make a difference quickly. If it gets worse, They give you a shot of that works really fast at a Dr. or hospital.

A lot of what you said is correct. They do need to check all other things. But I wanted to add that a person can become allergic to a medication or a substance at any time. It can be after they have been on the medication or substance for a day, a week, a month, or year. An allergic reaction is when your body has formed antibodies to react to the substance sometimes that is within hours, but sometimes it can take a longer time. I had a reaction to an antibiotic that I had taken multiple times. The other thing to rule out is stress. People can get hives and rashes from stress. If they are in a place where the weather is exceptionally warm the rash will be worse or more pronounced. Also if you have some autoimmune disorders, you may not get the rash where the products or items touch you. I have to autoimmune disorders and I get rashes often but I don't get them where the item touched me. I may get the rash on my neck or the tops of my feet but the irritant was placed somewhere else. That's the thing about rashes, they can be a big mystery.
