beverly, my name is jim and my first seizure was back in 2001, didn't know I had seizures until a doctor told me at that time it was due to alcohol withdrawal, then I had the grand mal in 2005 and I hadn't had a drink in 2 years at the time,now I am on generic dylantins and have been lucky not to have had one since, I wish you luck, it has been 7 years since I have had a drink now

Hi my name is Bev , I have had epilepsy & seizures since I was a small child. My seizures were controlled up until about 4 months ago, when I started having break thru seizures. I continued to have numerous seizures daily. Friday afternoon I had a grand-mal seizure that lasted over 30 minutes. I was fully aware of what my body was doing I just could do nothing about it. During the seizure, the side of my head continually hit the side of my coffee table. Finally, when my body decided to stop seizing, I ended up with a severe & massive lump on the right side of my head as well as pain, well past the 10 on the pain scale. I went to the hospital, had tests after tests, cat scans and blood work, all in all, my blood work was normal, then when it came to the cat scan, not all was roses. A spot was found on the left side of my brain. Now I am a basketcase hoping and praying that God will intervene. Anyone have any suggestions on how to keep calm. beverly
