Right. So, since watching this show, I've decided to run yet another experiment on myself. During my last two windows I've eaten nothing but meats and cheese. Lamb short ribs, steak, fish, calf liver, sardines, tuna, eggs, pepper jack, and swiss. I'm watching calories as well. I've dropped four pounds in two days. It's likely water and the bacteria in my gut shrinking. But the most important thing is that once I finish eating, I have no desire whatsoever to eat anything else for the rest of the night. I can walk into the kitchen and not crave something to snack on. I can walk right past the whisky and hardly notice.
When I've tried this in the past, I got to the point where I didn't want to ever see meat again so I switched to more vegetable based foods. But thinking about it, I think I was just still full and totally satiatied and probably could have waited another day to eat before I was actually hungry again. I'll see if I can get to that point again and then skip a day.
Amazingly, I can still ride my bike 30 miles and not feel any weakness.
I do feel though, that low carb does more regarding health and longevity than what the shows would lead you to believe. But, talking to Dr Herring, I've learned that Fast-5 accomplishes the low insulin effects of Atkins without restricting carbohydrates.
