[epilepsy] Grand Mal seizures and the right medicine

 

Hey Everyone.I have Grand Mal seizures,and have since I was 13,im now 18.I just lost my son Oct28,2009 due to Anencephaly.He lived for 51 mins and was born at 27wks3days gestation(more on my son Aidens story visit http://www.kansas.com/living/health-fitness/story/1075634.html?storylink=pluck_recommended ) anyways,I was on 900mg of Tegetol and doctors and gentic testing confirmed Aiden got Anencephaly because of the Tegretol. I dont want to loose any more kids in the future, and so my doctor just switched me to Lamictal. I am slowly winging off of my Tegretol to switch fully to Lamictal. Any advice? also Ive read Lamictal isnt for Grand Mal seizures..is that true?
