"It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," "Project Accessory" and the Original 7ven on "The Tonight Show".
The classic animated Halloween-themed Peanuts special, "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," airs Oct. 27.
Linus' lament
Every year, I tune in to see 1966's "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" (7 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5), hoping that Linus will finally get to see the Halloween counterpart to Santa Claus, and every year I'm heartbroken when he doesn't. I'll give the Great Pumpkin one more chance, but if it lets my little buddy down one more time, I'm going to send him a nasty letter.
It's the little things
When one project ends, it's time to start another. The finale of "Project Runway" (8 p.m., Lifetime) is followed by "Project Accessory" (9:30 p.m., Lifetime), a new series in which 12 designers compete to see who can come up with the best accoutrements. Anyone who suggests a Bozo the Clown nose gets my vote.
What Time is it?
Morris Day and the Time do their best to get Jay Leno to do "The Bird" when they perform on "The Tonight Show" (10:35 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11). The Minneapolis-born band actually now goes by the Original 7ven, but it still features Day, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis and funky dance moves. See Sunday's Variety section for an interview about the band's album -- and how their old pal Prince forced the name change.
