4 original members of The Family, one of the first bands to sign to Prince's Paisley Park Records, have reunited as fDeluxe and will perform at Joe's Pub on October 29 in support of their much anticipated album 'Gaslight'.
After a two decade hiatus that saw them individually working with some of the biggest names in music the band's original members, St. Paul Peterson (The Time), Jellybean Johnson (The Time), Susannah Melvoin (Wendy & Lisa) and Eric Leeds (Madhouse, Prince & The Revolution), are back and ready to show exactly why artists such as Questlove (The Roots), Sheila E. and Rahsaan Patterson are unabashed fans.
The new CD combines the essence of the original Family album along with the band's subsequent influences and diverse musical journeys. The show features material from both albums (including the original versions of 'Nothing Compares 2 U' and the smash hit 'Screams Of Passion') along with a few surprises.
