Re: [epilepsy] Seizure turned bad

Hi Ashley,

I didn't know that you could be aware of what is going on during a grand mal seizure. I thought that you were always unconscious. I know I was, didn't remember a thing. Take care.

I also have had very server seizures were I'm awake but unable to talk and control whats happening. I was even having an eeg when this happened. So it's possible that what Bev speaks of is a grandmal.
I even have seizures that are painful. In many support groups I've been told it's not possible. but my neuro. & neurosurgeon said yes it is. not very common, but does happen.
Bev the only thing I can tell you is just let your doctor know & also wait for results.

I do hope that nothing to server has happened. Due to what you did.

Take care

Now for something off topic...just need some prayers -
my sister & her 2 kids 6 & 9 lost there home in a fire on Wednesday of last week. Thankfully her kids were with there father on vacation & my sister was not hurt. But the house is totaled. Many things have been donated to her, thankfully & she now stays at my parents till she's able to find her a place.
so if u can just say a lil something for her would mean so much to us.

Thank you.

Take care & have a great week =)

Ashley

Hi Bev,

I think it is natural for us to think the worst when we are given new information that we don't understand about our health. I know that every time I have been given some information, I start looking up things on the Internet. My doctor told me that the reason they make you go through tests before they tell you things is because there are so many things that need to be ruled out before they can give a correct diagnosis.

Are you sure that you had a grand mal seizure? You are unconscious during grand mals and would not be aware of what was happening. This could be a different type of seizure, probably less severe.

What are your thoughts about what you were told?

Terry

Hi my name is Bev , I have had epilepsy & seizures since I was a small child. My seizures were controlled up until about 4 months ago, when I started having break thru seizures. I continued to have numerous seizures daily. Friday afternoon I had a grand-mal seizure that lasted over 30 minutes. I was fully aware of what my body was doing I just could do nothing about it. During the seizure, the side of my head continually hit the side of my coffee table. Finally, when my body decided to stop seizing, I ended up with a severe & massive lump on the right side of my head as well as pain, well past the 10 on the pain scale. I went to the hospital, had tests after tests, cat scans and blood work, all in all, my blood work was normal, then when it came to the cat scan, not all was roses. A spot was found on the left side of my brain. Now I am a basketcase hoping and praying that God will intervene. Anyone have any suggestions on how to keep calm. beverly
