Subject: RE: [epilepsy] Use of Generic drugs.
Dave,
A patent lasted only 7 years, the company that developed the covering of the therapeutic drug. The therapeutic drug is all that is required to be included in any generic from of that brand name medicine which has allot more to it than just that one ingredient. That is why so many/none of the generic forms have the same have life of the brand name, and cost so little, because you only get what you pay for. Ambulances are unnecessary for people who have been diagnosed with epilepsy, unless the seizure does not stop in five minutes or another starts just after that. The paramedic just wants to take the person to a hospital so they will be billed separately by the fire department, hospital and physician. If not taken to hospital, the responce to pick that person up costs that person nothing unless that person is hauled away to hospital. If that person requests to sign a Release Of Responsibility form and my sign a Refusal of Care Form either of which
releases the paramedic from any legal responsibility if anything happens to that person afterward, BUT just after a seizure that person isn't able to think of what to ask for. The paramedic probably knows this takes advantage of that...

Just a friendly reminder: Please remember to sign your post and remember to clean up messages when you reply to them. This is especially important if you are on digest. This not only helps out the list owner but, it makes messages much easier to read when they arrive in our inboxes.
