Re: [epilepsy] Tongue biting and video

I just the got top ones out as were such a mess from falling and banging something ... chipped and broken and
then the calcium eating up and medication doing damage. Was either a case of getting fillings or all pulled.

Subject: [epilepsy] Tongue biting and video

Hi all,

Thank you for the ideas for tongue biting.

We've considered a mouthguard, but I'm concerned that with the spasms and movements it may become dislodged
from its position and end up lodged where it shouldn't be, causing more problems. This may be a silly
thought, but scary for me.

Hubby doesn't have false teeth - maybe that's an option - we could have them all removed! ;-))

He had another GM last night. Unfortunately I was not quick enough at getting my makeshift preventative roll
across his teeth, so his poor tongue is bitten again. Sigh.

He's up making coffee for me at the moment - although stiff and sore he refuses not to carry on 'as normal'.
I'm absolutely astounded at his resilience - he refuses to give in to self-pity. If the tables were turned
I'm sure I'd be far less able to cope.

Interesting to see the video with the child - not long after we were discussing videos on this group -
coincidences sometimes amaze me.
