RE: [epilepsy] Lamictal vs Lamictal XR

Our 7 yr old daughter got switched to 200mg Lam XR x 2 per day on Nov 18th.
Her SZ's have dropped by approx 50% but likely more because she had several
last week after she caught a cold!! Her new neuro noticed a high % of her
Sz"s were occurring within 2-3 after taking her meds and made the
recommendation.

Subject: [epilepsy] Lamictal vs Lamictal XR

I was wondering if others might have switched from regular Lamictal,
to the new Lamictal XR which only has to be taken once a day. I
doesn't matter what the level of mg is, but this is released in
different way so it is supposed to last 24 hours.

I presently take two Lamictal 200mg daily. I am apprehensive about
any change, but since there is cost reduction involved, I thought
I should look into it.

Has anyone tried this switch and how did it go?

Thanks for your time and your opinion on this.
Doris
