Re: [epilepsy] info

Scott,

Before Medicare D -- I got my Dilantin free and Evista for about$10 a month. They were both from the companies who make them. I had to send in my Tax papers every year and went thru my Dr. to order the meds. The brand name Dilantin for 4 months was sent to my Dr where I picked it up and I got the Evista from the drugstore.

I'm not sure how it got started. I think maybe the lady in charge of our building got it started. At that time there was
"Needy Meds". I don't know if that is still going.

Since Medicare D I am paying for Dilantin and Evista (for osteoporosis). Medicare D did me no favors.

Millie

Wow, this is sad. :( I'm sorry to hear you're having to struggle with this.
It actually sounds like the story I just wrote, ironically, which has a
happy ending for the character. It'd be great if real life were like that...

How often are your szs? How long ago were you dx'ed? Do you know much
about your triggers? Can you avoid any of them? What treatment have you
explored? If you're fairly new to epi, keep looking for answers. I had my first sz
as a baby, am now 43, and have complete control for the first time in my
life since starting Keppra over the summer. :) When I met my husband, I was
also sure he'd run, and given the mess I was in at the time (poor control
with a severe reaction to my med), I still can't believe all these years
later that he stuck with me. :)

Good luck to you!
