[epilepsy] Zonegran + kidney stones: need to know

 

Hello.

In April, I was coming off of one medicine and onto this one and that was completed late April. I take 200mg at night.

May 30th: first-ever kidney stone

June 30th: second one, this one requiring a hospital stay and procedure to get it out

I just turned 38 and they say these things can be common/start in the 40's, but I'm not fully there yet. I drink plenty and never have smoked or drank alcohol (who knows if they are factors)...and I don't think it's a stretch to say that the 'Zanygran' is a possibility even if this can be an uncommon side effect. In the E/R "it might be the better of two evils", well...I disagree.

Anyone please share with me: any such problems not long after starting Zonegran??? I'll be getting off of yet another anticonvulsant soon, it seems.
