Sorry you are having to deal with this!
First, it is likely that the tumor is causing the seizures, so dealing
with that may take care of the seizures. Unfortunately having more then
one diagnosis makes treatment harder. The plus side though is that you
know a cause, which makes the long term outcome better because the
treatment can be targeted.
Seizures originating in the temporal lobe can be difficult to treat
because everyone responds to different meds in different ways. It does
take time to get the right med at the right dose for each person. Don't
get frustrated to quickly if it takes time to get this right. Some of
us went through several meds, several doses, and several changes to get
the right fit.
Also, there are many things that can trigger seizures. Has something in
his routine changed? Stress along can trigger them as well. Make sure
he is getting enough sleep, since lack of sleep is a trigger for a lot
of people. Also, being dehydrated can be, so make sure he is drinking
adequate water.
