[epilepsy] Help with my six year old's breakthrough seizures

My son is 6 years old and is on trileptal. He began the med in May. No seizures for several weeks then he got 3 in one day. So the doc increased the dosage. He has not had any seizures for a month now until this morning. He had the tiniest seizure, less than 10 seconds. He was telling me something, then stopped mid-sentence, made a sucking sound with his mouth, wobbled a little bit, then he came back. But now he is complaining of a headache. I gave him tylenol but he is still hurting. I don't know what else to do to help him. I don't get headaches so I dont know.

Also, yesterday I completely forgot to give him his morning dose, and when I remembered it was already lunchtime. Do you think because he had a late dose that caused his seizure this morning?

An MRI revealed a tumor in his temporal lobe earlier this month. He has surgery scheduled in August. I'm still in shock bc my son was a very healthy kid and now all of a sudden he has epilepsy and brain tumor. Has anyone here gone thru something like this?
