[epilepsy] Re: Introduction

Hi Caryn,

Susanne shared her experiences with driving and getting her license back, but I wanted to mention that the laws on driving with epilepsy vary widely from state to state. So if you need to stop driving for some period of time, check your own state's laws. Some states are mandatory reporting states, which means a doctor is required to report seizure activity to the DMV, while others have no such requirement. Also, the period that you need to remain seizure free varies quite a bit. In WI, for example, the period is just three months.

Best wishes,
Tammy
